Walking home this afternoon, I thought I heard someone practicing the flute, tootling light melodies out an open window on a springlike day. It was the window washers maneuvering their platform from one floor to the next. A surprisingly lovely timbre and rhythm.
Note to those who decide such things:
Soprano saxophone is an extremely poor choice for "on hold" music. With all the upper and lower frequencies rolled off via the telephone, all we hear is the shrieking, the shrill, the harsh, headache inducing wretched squeal of, most often, Kenny G or his sad, sad imitators.
Please try something with cello or mellow piano.
Thanks.
